Nerima Daikon Brothers Review
Living on a stage constructed in a daikon radish patch, childhood friends Hideki, Ichiro and Mako -- along with their panda pal Pandaikon (shown left) dream of building a concert dome in which their band, Nerima Daikon Brothers, can perform musical numbers in front of adoring fans.
In the meantime, though, they sing, dance, farm daikon and fight the town baddies in this rare type of "musical" anime series.
At first this anime series seemed very warm hearted, entertaining, and cute. I loved the simplistic (poke'mon) animation style, and the fighting was just too funny. They kept on singing while throwing punches and kicks, and Mako (the pink haired girl) thinks she is gods gift to men. She demands the finest things in life, but rarely, if ever, gets them.
Despite the obvious facts that makes this anime unique (that fact that its musical) is enough of a reason for any of you to go and check it out, however to me, after a while all of the singing and dancing got to be very tiresome. Sometimes, they just randomly bust out in song over some of the dumbest stuff.
I mean, don't get me wrong I have to give the Japanese mad props for making a anime musical like this, but next time, don't go overboard.
