Divergence Eve Review

Divergence Eve screen shot Divergence Eve is about a young girl named Kureha Misaki, (shown in the picture) who is training as a space candidate. After finishing her training along with several other young women, they head towards the "Watcher's Nest". A relay station which had a "Inflation hole". (A portal which makes it possible to travel from this solar system to outer space going beyond the speed of light.)

On their way to the Inflation hole, they are greeted by these abhorrent creatures from a parallel universe known as "Ghouls". Which wreak havoc upon the the crew, and especially Kureha Misaki. So as expected, a semi-war ensues. And eventually, and unfortunately, Kureha Misaki learns that her superiors have been keeping a secret from her. She is part Ghoul.

Normally, I never feel so strongly enough about a anime to say "it sucked", but this anime was just so horrible I feel I have to. Divergence Eve, while it may sound interesting, is by far the worst anime series I've seen in a good long time.

If one could EVER get past the gigantic, disproportionate, wobbling orbs MAYBE there would be a good story and interesting characters hiding in there somewhere... but I never found it.

The subtitles come and go so quickly that one can barely keep up with what the characters are saying, and if you try to watch the english dub, they mutilated the words so much that one can hardly even understand what's going on half the time. I had to go online, and read what the series was about, after watching it!

The only female character who was somewhat interesting (and didn't have tig bitty's) was the super-smart little android girl.

This series does feature Mecha's (fighting robots) and space vessals, and they were all animated using CG. Which in itself, is not a bad thing, they did that in Vandread and it looked pretty good. But in this series the Mecha designs just sucked!

As another anime-fan said: "This is a good story told poorly." And I agree. Take my advice, it's not worth it, don't waste your time or money on this trash.
